GUIDE TO KITTING:

I. A couple needs three threads together before they're eligible to try for kits in this thread. If the couple has kitted before, there is a three month waiting period between litters. This is to allow the previous litter to become apprentices before the next is born.

II. A pregnant queen requires one thread where she's pregnant and one thread where the kits are delivered.

III. The kits cannot be roleplayed until after the queen has delivered, for obvious reasons.

IV. Kits are completely randomized from the number and health of kits in the litter to coat and eye colors. We use random.org to randomize your litter. There is one roll to decide the number of kits, then an individual roll to decide the health of the kit. Rolling a high number will give you a healthy kit, while a low roll will give you a weak or sickly kit. An especially low roll will give you a stillborn. Seasons have an effect on kitting, too. The amount of kits a queen can have is smaller and the chance for a sickly or stillborn kit is much higher.

V. Post a thread in this board with the following filled out:

father's name: the name of the father
father's coat color: the coat color of the father
father's eye color: the eye color of the father
other: any genetic abnormalities the cat might have i.e. polydactyly

GUIDE TO RANDOMIZING:

We use random.org to randomize litters!

Before we get into the explanation, you should be aware that there are some factors that may change how randomizing works! The time of year affects litter size and kit health. In new-leaf and green-leaf, the litters are healthier and hardier than those born in leaf-fall and leaf-bare. The health of the mother may affect litters, too. If the mother went through a hardship (hunger, sickness, etc), her unborn kits may be affected. Finally, if your cat's Clan is absolutely overrun with kits, we may give you a small litter or no litter at all!

The first roll decides how many kits are in the litter. It's a randomized integer between 0 and 8, meaning your cat can have anywhere from no kits to eight kits.

The second roll (though it's technically multiple rolls when you have more than one kit in the litter) is for the health of each individual kit. We roll a number between 0-20. The higher the roll, the healthier the kit. Low rolls result in sickly or otherwise weak kittens. A 0 or 1 will result in a stillborn. 

Pelt colors are either the mother's pelt color, the father's pelt color, or a mix. (i.e. a white cat and a tabby may make a tabby with white markings / a ginger cat and a black cat may make a calico)

Eye colors are either their mother's eye color or their father's eye color.
