sunningrocks

This long-disputed territory is the source of hostility between RiverClan and ThunderClan. The Sunningrocks used to be on RiverClan's side of the river, but a flood changed the course of the stream and the Clan's source of pride wound up on ThunderClan's side. After that, ThunderClan claimed it, then RiverClan took it back in a raid, and then back again. There have been countless fights over these rocks, with the last one being only a few moons ago. For now, RiverClan enjoys the sun-warmed rocks and the heaps of prey skittering between the crevices and in the grass.

river

The river forms a winding border between RiverClan and the rest of the forest territories. The part of the river that cuts through the gorge is foamy and rough and makes even the strongest swimmer hesitate. Once it leaves the mouth of the gorge, it gradually calms down to a gentle, yet incessant, pull of the water around RiverClan camp. The riverbank is covered in cattails and slopes down into the water. At the water's edge, the ground is loose and gravelly. On most days, the water is clear enough to see vague shapes of rocks at the bottom of the river.

twoleg bridge

A sturdy, wooden bridge that cuts over the gorge. Twolegs built it so long ago that no living cat can remember a time without it. The bridge is wind-worn and rotted in some places. Twolegs don't use it very often anymore - probably because of its current condition - but RiverClan uses it every moon to get to Fourtrees (and beyond, when the occasion arises). Aside from crossings, some cats like to sit there and watch the water rush between the spaces between the wooden planks. Swimming and fishing here is inadvisable; the current is too strong and even the strongest swimmers may find themselves sucked down underwater if they lean too far over the bridge.

gorge

A deep gorge marks the border between RiverClan and WindClan. The sheer cliffs where the land drops away into rushing water make it impossible to reach the water without falling into it from above. Apprentices are forbidden to go near it, but even warriors are discouraged from going to the gorge if they don't have to. Too many cats on both sides of the border have been lost to curiosity or a misstep. While it serves as a strong border between the Clans, it also serves as a reminder that danger can come in many forms.

Board Description
riverclan territory
RiverClan takes the westernmost part of the forest territories for themselves. Most of it is flat stretches of plains with the occasional rolling hill, but the horses and Twolegs on the farms at the fringes of their territory make it hard for warriors to hunt. It doesn't concern them much, though, because most of RiverClan's activity buzzes around the southeast corner of their territory where the river is calm and teeming with fish. The river that defines them borders the eastern side of the territory. It cuts through the gorge and rumbles down its path until it disappears beyond the edge of their territory.
