leader's den

The leader's den is on the same side of the clearing as the medicine cats' den, the apprentices' den, and the elders' den. The leader's den is built out of a combination of reeds and willow stems. Hidden between the protruding roots of an ancient willow tree, the leader has quick access to its low branches to make announcements to their Clan. The inside of the den is cool and dry. The leader's nest is commonly made out of moss and placed toward the back wall.

medicine cat's den

The medicine cat's den is secluded behind an olive sedge near the leader's, elders', and apprentices' dens. There's a small clearing between the sedge and the medicine cat's den where the sick and the injured can rest without being disturbed. The den itself is a thick tangle of reeds with a small depression in the ground near the back of the den. The medicine cat keeps their herbs concealed and organized there.

warriors' den - 1 Viewing

The warrior's den is a tangle of reeds huddled up to the nursery. While the queens can rest assured that there will never be a warrior too far from the nursery to defend it, warriors closest to the joined wall often complain of the noise their tiny neighbors make. RiverClan cats often collect shiny rocks and shells and feathers out on the territory, bring them back, and weave them into the roof of the den. The nests themselves are made of moss and rushes and decorated with flower blossoms and other bright things to give each bed its own individuality. The warriors' den sits very close to the river and one bad storm is enough to have half the den muddy - or worse, flooded.

apprentices' den

On the same side of the clearing as the leaders' den, medicine cat's den, and the elders' den, yet another tangle of reeds makes up the apprentices' den. Its walls are decorated with shiny, bright objects that apprentices' had found and woven into the reed. Moss lines the floor of the den, making the ground soft enough to sleep on even without bedding. The decorations span generations and some older cats like to point fondly at rocks and shells they'd left there and recount the time when they'd stayed in the den.

nursery

Beside the warriors' den is the nursery, another den made of tightly woven, thick reed walls. The nursery is spacious enough to fit several queens and their brood snuggly. It's the den closest to the river and the most likely to be affected by floodwaters if the river swells. The proximity to the river lets the queens take their kits for swimming lessons without straying too far from the den. Queens have to keep an extra eye on their kits to make sure none of them wander too close to the water unsupervised.

elders' den

At the top of a small slope, the elders' den can be found a little ways from the other three dens on that side of the clearing. The vantage point keeps the den dry and safe from flooding and the residents of the elders' den boast that the den has never taken water, even in the worst weather. Its walls are made of willow stems and the roof is a thick knot of reeds. The nests are made of moss and kept fresh by eager-to-please apprentices.

Board Description
riverclan camp
RiverClan camp is situated on a large, dry island in the middle of the river. Surrounded by reeds, the Clan is hidden from prying eyes. It doesn’t protect them as well as thorn bushes could, but the river is a natural deterrent for their enemies and the camp has never been attacked. The clearing is spacious and sun-warmed. Most of the dens are made out of reeds but the cats personalize them with shells and feathers to break up the monotony. The leader’s den is built out of willow stems woven into the roots of a willow tree. Concealed behind a sedge, the medicine cat makes their home in woven reeds. Inside, they dig small holes to hide their herbs out of reach from curious Clanmates. Beside the medicine cat’s den at the top of a slope, the elders rest in a den made of willow stems and reeds. On the other side of the clearing is the warriors den and the nursery. The warriors den is another unremarkable tangle of reeds, but the shiny stones the RiverClan cats entwined in the roof cast little squares of light onto the floor of the den. Closest to the river, the nursery is tucked against a wall of sedges. Its walls are a thick knit of willow branches and reeds to prevent the nursery from floating away. The proximity to the river lets kits practice swimming and getting wet. In the clearing nearby, cats can enjoy sunning on a few flat rocks whenever the river recedes. When the river swells, however, the camp is at risk of being flooded.
